My plan is to do this each Friday. This one will be a little longer as I purge out old links:
- The white pages are going the way of the dodo bird, as more people get their information off the web. Yellow pages are here to stay, at least for the time being.
- The Vatican has said that the Blues Brothers is a "Catholic classic" and should be viewed by Catholics everywhere. Apparently Jake and Elwood were on a Mission from God, and when watching it make sure to look for Stephen Spielberg in the scene at city hall.
- The Vatican has also given its approval of the Simpsons.
- There are a lot of stupid laws. Here are 50 of the strangest, one from each state, which includes making sure you pay the parking meter if you tie your elephant to said meter.
- Teens in states with more conservative religious beliefs, have the highest birth rates.
- The military is using video games as training and recruiting tools.
- A high school in Maryland, among many others, had eliminated the grade of F.
- Tom Shadyac, director of Liar, Liar, Bruce Almighty and Ace Ventura, among others, had rejected Hollywood life and is now living in a trailer in Malibu.
- According to a study done by UC-Davis, we will run out of oil 100 years before alternative energies are able to replace it. You might also do a search on peak oil.
- According to a recent poll, 53% of Republicans say there is no evidence of global climate change. This is the highest percentage ever.
- The view of what constitutes a family is changing, as are our views on marriage.
- Living without a bank can be a very expensive proposition.
- People are taking the teachings of Harry Potter and trying to apply them to the problems of the world through a new form of activism
Thanks for the shout out and for sharing links :)
